MAC Deep Offset DBE Markings

Soliciting thoughts on the "0" stamp on these wrenches. At first I thought perhaps they were simply owners' marks but member Chopper then owned up to having a couple as well which are shown courtesy of Chopper in the last pic. This style model number (B-###) is noted in the '49 MAC catalog but disappears by '51 in favor of the new numbering scheme. So, my thought is that they could possibly be a 1 year attempt to start marking date codes in 1950 (0 = 1950). I'd like to hear other opinions.

Interesting I will look and see what I can find in my small collection. Do you know (or have any idea) what the outside coating consist of on your wrenches?

No such luck sorry I wish I could help you out, I found the #10 but no 0 and it was an open end wrench, I will keep looking.

I believe it's cad plating

I believe Chop is correct. Pretty sure it's Cad but possibly plain steel.

Interesting then cad plating would suggest it was made at least during the war years and maybe a little later; my wrench also looks like it has the cad plating.

Could be, they are a rough forge. The deep offset is an understatement, they are almost 90 degrees!

Todd: found more 0 Mac markings. I have some amber handled screwdrivers that have the 0. If someone could date the time the ambers were offered we may be able to come to a close answer.

I believe the O on the amber handle drivers is for Ohio.
