That's got to be the most popular and widely used size; a 3/8'' drive flex-head ratchet with an overall length of 11 to 13 inches. Why they discontinue that, I have no idea. That would be like Toyota discontinuing their most popular model; the Camry. Granted they have the 13'' locking flex model, but there's times when I don't want a locking flex.

Purely a guess but, I think MAC is redesigning their Axis 90 tooth ratchets and the replacements aren't out yet. They could have sold out of the old version in that style and new ones aren't available yet :dunno:

I doubt anything was redesigned or it would of shown up in the recently launched locking flex. Their site is just wrong or its something cosmetic like a change in the handle (again).

i looked a week or so ago and most of the axis ratchets said discontinued

now most of the ones that were marked as discontinued are no longer showing as discontinued

i'm going to assume site glitch... their site has been pretty piss poor lately... i've experienced days of their site just straight up not working, often slow as all hell, items seem to randomly go from being able to order them online to "call for pricing and ordering"

i miss the old mac tools website with its closeouts section

I signed up the other day on the MAC and Proto sites to be part of their research questionnaire and receive newsletters. Fill in all my info they want, I get an email from both sites saying I need to click on this to complete my registration. Both Proto and MAC send me to a place saying this program has been discontinued. WTF! However there was an option to sign up for Dewalt and Craftsman. No thanks

Are Proto and Matco having a contest to see who can put the most characters in their ratchet part number?

Proto J5250HTCF

Matco BFR128LFTM

Matco is currently winning the contest. If Proto had a locking flex and plastic handle ratchet they would win

now now... it's LFM not LFTM

and i'd rather have the BFR128LFG myself but i prefer green handles over orange

but lets not forget mac... XR1890FPA closest snap-on gets for a ratchet part number that i can think of is the GFHLFD80 if they made that in the 18" version it would reach the same length by adding another L
