Im looking for some info on my tool box. I bought it off a SO truck a few years ago without knowing anything about it. I have been doing some searching online and cant find much about it. I figured GJ would be the place to get some answers.

No info about the Dream Machine? Anyone know what year they made them? How about a top drawer picture to spark some interest...

Figure out the base model number and go from there. A call to Mac might help.

Looks like a tech 1000 with red handles and extra belt moldings/emblems to me.

Yeah my boss has a Tech 1000 and it looks pretty identical. When i bought the box it had the trim on the handles but the trim was pretty beat up. I took off all the trim thinking i would repaint it and put it back on but i actually kinda liked the way it looked without it (im not really into chrome). Ill have to see if i can find some model numbers on it somewhere when i go back to work on monday.

Back in the '80s, I was working with Hayes Lemmerz and bought one new from the mac tool truck. It cost me 5200.00. It came with a cover that I no longer have due to misappropriation of rescources. (Not mine). Last night I was offered the opportunity to get it back after a 10 year abscence due to a trade for a truck that I needed. I had originally kept it waxed and polished and covered. I rigged lights under the lid and lined the top with black velour. I then started mt model car collection. I still have the cars. I may replace the lights with leds and relign the top with black crushed velvet to display my collection again once I clean everything up again and make some proper repairs. (Clean and fix scratches and replace drawer pulls etc.) If anyone knows where I can get an original cover, I'd like to know about it.
