I've had this for a while now, just remembered I had it the other day.
The only markings are "MAC" on one side, and the quotation marks look like 7s.
Is this real Mac, or a shop-made effort? If it is real, any idea on age? It caught my eye when I found it because it was so small and thin. It is 3.25" long by 5/32" wide with 6 leaves per side. Leaves are 1.5" long.

The lock knobs match, but the shim sizes don't really make much sense, and they are out of order.

Left side are: .025, .032, .013, .017, .028, .022
Right side: .014, .018, .016, .02, .034, .03

Anyone?

I have not seen one like it, but have myself been guilty of customizing a feeler gauge!

I've had to do a few myself...I don't think it would be fun to attempt to handmake 5/32 wide shims in any thickness, let alone .034!

This unit is way smaller than all the other feeler gage sets I have.

I think it’s the real deal Dave. A lot of old MAC had quotes.

Thanks 3bay. That is pretty cool if its real.

As for the sequence of the blades, Dave, in my experience, Starrett, Kastar and other mfgrs always put the thinnest blade in between thicker blades or the thickest blade and the case in the factory configuration. And of course as I'm sure you realize, it may have also been taken apart and rearranged. I don't think I've ever handled a vintage feeler gage that was in size/numerical order. Granted, the order on your gage is really whacky, so I suspect it was taken apart and put back together again by a prior owner like that.

It looks like a feeler gauge for points. they were much smaller
than other feeler gauges so you could get it in the distributor.
