I was looking at a set of these on the Mac truck a while back, the extra long metric combo set in the yellow tray and was thinking about getting them, till I was told the price. almost $400.00 for 7 wrenches(cant remember how manys in the set). My question is, are these wrenches worth this much money, are they $400 dollar quality? Why are they so expensive? Actual retail price is $340.00

I have some and they are quality wrenches. My only complaint is that the edges of the handle are are sharp and not very comfotable. They aren't rounded and smooth like most wrenches.

Look at the S-K SUPERKROME long patterns before you buy, i have both sets, I like the S-K line better, and price is better.

none of the truck brand wrenches are worth it at full retail, but people buy them. They're very nice wrenches otherwise however if you're after a long wrench you'll really use day in and day out i think you'd be much better off purchasing a double box with at least 1 ratcheting end or a long ratcheting combo.

Here are my KS Extra Longs against Snap-On FD+ Ratcheting Combos (set SOEXRM710 which retails the same as a 7pc set of Extra Long Combos), as you can see the Snap-Ons arent too far behind in length [note i matched up the box ends, not the wrench ends]. There is a reason the MACs are still new the Snap-Ons are used and abused. Ratcheting wrenches are simply a huge time saver and a joy to use. I havent given up regular combos completely, i do have a set of Snap-On Extra long combo's i use but its largely because of how slim they are so the box/open ends can get into tighter areas.

I have the SAE set and when I was looking into them the price was close to $400 bucks.
I didn't buy them at the time cause I really don't use SAE that much.
Months later Mac guy is going belly up I see the same set and ask how much
he pulls the book out a BAM!!! Super price drop He says give $180 I say $160
He says CASH I say DEAL. I understand we all have to make a living but Dam if I'm spending that much on wrenches And I have near 100k in tools.

Morrison, I too have the wrenches you refer too. I like them, and do use them daily, but BOY not for $400! I think I got mine eBay style for maybe 125ish. That was in '08, don't recall specifically.

I like the square feel to the wrench edges that Snap-On doesn't offer in theirs. Extra Long is really nice too.

Hit up the flea market and see if you can score that deal.
