Another trip down memory lane-
About the second or third top/roller combo toolbox that I bought over the years was a MAC MB910/920 combo that I bought in the early 80s.At the time,at 33" wide and 24" deep,it was the biggest box in the shop I worked in,and probably one of the biggest boxes available then.I added a 4 drawer side cabinet to it and had it pretty well filled.IIRC,it had drawer slides, but they worked well,if kept clean and lubed. It was available in only one color-red,but I had a lettering guy put my name on it and pinstripe it.This box was my favorite box to work out of.Plenty of smaller than full width drawers made for a well organized box that held a lot of tools, but the box was small enough and had great casters on it,so it was easy to move around the shop.
This box was destroyed in a garage fire in the late 90's,and has had a couple of sucessors, including the KRA 4007/4014 combo I have now,but even with it's smaller size and lack of ball bearing slides,I'd like to find another one.
Is this box available from any manufacturer yet?I believe it was made for MAC by another company, but I haven't figured out who.I haven't been able to find a used one worth cleaning/restoring.

the mac mb910/mb920 combo was made my matco even after they split. IIRC when mac stopped buying their boxes from matco the numbers changed to mb9100/mb9200.

This is an old thread, but there is one of the top boxes available near me. $300. I have no idea if that is a good price or not.

I would say no, unless it's in very good condition. I bought both the top and bottom for $250. It was not very good aesthetically, but mechanically it was excellent.

I know this is an old post but I have a MAC mb910/mb920 combo that my grandpa gave to me. I love it. Like you said, plenty of room, yet small enough to easily move around. Im planning on restoring it this winter.

IIRC the 900 series was only 18 inches deep and not 24. I had one of my guys buy a kit from MAC that allowed you to put two of the bottom boxes together and remove the center casters. Those were great boxes back in the day. I think MAC came out with a 8000 series to replace it that was the same wide but the top box was full depth and it had roller bearing slides. I don't think the 8000 lasted very long.

Where would be the best place to get new locks at. I want to either replace mine or rebuild them, and where can I buy the clips that hold the drawers in

I just got a MB920 made in 1977 top and bottom. It is in rough shape but still a sweet box. Any idea on the worth of a box like this? Any info would be helpful. Id love to keep it but the wife says it needs to go.

the fact that an old box like this one still has a following makes it easier for me to blow out the cobwebs and grease up the slides. Whee

I just saw this old post doing some research on my Mac MB910 tool box. Also have the bottom to match, not sure of numbers, will have to look. Curious as to what year it was made. Says Nov 76, could that be it?
