Mac Multimeter Pawn Shop Find

Hi,

I picked up the following Mac Multimeter EM-710 for just under $43.00 with tax. It looks to basically be brand new. Anybody know anything about who makes the multimeter's for Mac? I read somewhere that it may be FINE INSTRUMENTS CORPORATION but never heard of them before. I need to clean off the residue from the pawn shop sticker.

That is an excellent meter. I use mine everyday, have for 2 years now without even changing the battery. One of the other guys in the shop has had one for 5 years or so, he had it when he started for us 4 years ago anyway, says he bought about a year before that.

As far as who makes it, I honestly can't remember. sorry

That's the same one I've used nearly everyday for the past 4 years. I paid $200 for it so you got a smokin' deal. The Mac guy talked me out of a Fluke for this one at half the price. He stated that they have few issues than the Fluke. Things like popping fuses. As far as who makes them I could never find out. All I could find out is they're made in South Korea just like the Snap-On meters.

great meter..i just picked up a MAC EM720 and use it for checking battery voltage when doing a PM, to working on Hybrid trucks. MAC had the 710 on special awhile back, my tool guy sold me the 720 that he had on the truck for the same price as the 710..
