After 29 years my first tool truck purchase gave up the ghost. I have a Mac XR11FPA ratchet. Any possibility of finding a rebuild kit for it? I did some googling and came up empty. Am I missing something?

I'm interested in the answer as well. I had to rebuild my prized red handle XR11FPA a while ago and used another XR series ratchet (knurled handle XR8) I had laying around. No way was I sending mine back to MAC to get replaced with a new crappy handled one. Once I gutted both of them and cleaned them out, lubed them, etc. they both worked great so I lucked out. Only had one tiny gear sliver off of one tooth of the FPA so I put that gear in the XR8 and it seems fine now as a backup. Would love to get a few rebuild kits in storage.

I guess my long winded advice is, get another used XR series and use that. Plenty of them around.

I'd call or email MAC to see if rebuild kit is available it may be part no. XRRK-A but please confirm before buying.

ETA this is copy and paste from description of an ebay listing (didn't look like any kits were still available) may help but don't know if it's accurate

All kits are of American-made version. All kits are for the pear-shaped ratchets except for the kit #10 RK-MRR, which is for the round head ratchets. Please refer to the photo and the description for each kit detailed below. Please note that the kits for the pear-shaped ratchets are for the newer version. The mounting screws are going through the body and threading into the cover plate. See first photo for reference.

01 MRRK-A.....Complete kit; for 1/4" drive MR5 and its flex head or long handle variations

02 MRRK-A.....Gear, pawl, spring, and cover plate only; for 1/4" drive MR5 and its flex head or long handle variations

03 MRRK-A.....Gear and cover plate only; for 1/4" drive MR5 and its flex head or long handle variations

04 (P/N Unknown).....Kit looks like it's for the MR5 ratchet. However, the gear does not fit the MR5 head. Gear has 24 teeth instead of 30

05 XRMRK-A.....Complete kit; for 1/4" drive MR5 ratchet with 3/8" drive head (this kit turns the regular MR5 into a 3/8" drive)

06 XRMRK-A.....Complete kit; for 1/4" drive MR5 ratchet with 3/8" drive head (this kit turns the regular MR5 into a 3/8" drive)

07 XRRK-A.....Complete kit; for 3/8" drive XR8, XR11, XR12, XR13, and their flex head variations

08 XRRK-A.....No screws; for 3/8" drive XR8, XR11, XR12, XR13, and their flex head variations

09 XRIKR.....Complete kit; similar to XRRK-A but comes with two shorter springs

10 RK-MRR.....Complete kit; for MRR3, MRR5, MRR6F, MRR7, and MRR7PA ratchets

11 VRRK-A.....Complete kit; for 1/2" drive VR10, VR11, VR15, VR17, VR18, and their flex head variations

12 XRRK-A.....Complete kit; for 3/8" drive XR8, XR11, XR12, XR13, and their flex head variations. Pawl has slight manufacturer blemish on outer edge. Does not affect functionality. See close-up.

13 XRRK-AF.....No cover plate; Gear, pawl, spring, ball, lever, and screw for lever only ; for 3/8" drive XR8, XR11, XR12, XR13, and their flex head variations

14 XRRK-A (USED).....Complete kit; for 3/8" drive XR8, XR11, XR12, XR13, and their flex head variations. This is a USED KIT from an older XR11 with older style Torx head screws. Minor wear and tear. In good working order.

My MAC guy will be at the shop tomorrow morning. I will ask him if a rebuild kit is available for your model.

I have several pear shaped ratchets, don't know model no. bought several yrs ago and have served me well, but
I do have 2 that just wore out, granted some are from the 70's. Seen a Mac truck about 6 yrs ago and after
chasing him down found out he was a friend of mine , he had sold me a lot of my tools. I told him of the problem
and he gave me 6 each 3/8" and 1/2" repair kits. He retired shortly after that and I havent seen many Mac trucks
since. But I do have several smooth Mac ratchets and a couple of kits left over.

MAC had the repair parts, that was 20 years ago and before I retired. I am looking for a parts and assembly diagram I downloaded years ago. When I find it I may edit it in. I do not think you have looked enough. The information is on line, somewhere.
The pictures are of the two MAC pawl drive ratchets i have. The 777 is very powerful and can hurt a person.

My MAC guy said it depends how your model ratchet was built. If the screws go through on the anvil side, you cannot. If they go through the head, there is a kit available. I didn’t get a price.

It would appear so! You can call MAC’s customer service and get a part # and a price. I’ve dealt with them before and they’re very friendly.

I did some more digging, found a YouTube on it, and it looks like the XRRK-A is the correct one. Cant seem to track any down, I did find an email address on the Mac site, so I am waiting to hear back.
Thanks guys.

I actually checked and thought I had one in my box but it's an MRRK-A for 1/4" and used. I must have kept old parts when I updated a ratchet some time ago. The parts are used but still look serviceable lol...

I have the MAC hard handle X8 *** ratchet. I broke one of the screws and a quick phone call to MAC and they had a full rebuild kit on the way within a week. No cost,no shipping and it is the XRRK-A so they are available directly from MAC. I believe this was late winter/early spring this year . MAC Tools: 1 (800) 622-8665
