What’s your opinion on Mac ratchets? I can get this VR10 1/2 from a guy for 40$
Yay or nay?

They are good, durable ratchets, but I wouldn't pay $40 for it.

Just my opinion, as I prefer the modern versions with higher tooth count, such as the Mac Axis, Hazet 916HP, or Snap-on S80.

I don't like short handled 1/2 drive ratchets. My box has one, so I would only take it if it were free, for an extra. For $40 you're well on your way to the super long 24 inch gearwrench locking flex head 1/2 drive ($67 on amazon), or if you are happy with 17 inches you can buy that for $40. Still a locking flex head.

NAY.

Its classic 30 tooth ratcheting mechanism was very popular back in the day but, there are so many better choices available today. Do you really want a 1/2 drive ratchet that's around 10 inches in length? I prefer mine around 12-15 inches long because, it's 1/2 drive after all. $40 is $20 too much for that ratchet.

Your results may vary, as you're the one that would use it.
