Any idea who Makes the MAC long double box end wrenches? theyre taiwanese so i assume not mac? Im after a set of long double box end wrenches without paying snap on money.

Looks identical to the new Capri double box wrenches, the 16x18 and 17x19 combos are just like the MAC’s and both are made in Taiwan. Best thing is the Capri Metric set is $109 and the SAE is $99 which both sets together is still less than the MAC metric set.

There are several lower cost options. Besides the Capri set mentioned above, There is also Genius brand, Napa's Carlyle (only when on sale), and my personal favorite JTC Auto Tools found on Ebay Motors.
If you want to have the luxury of a fine toothed ratcheting boxed end on one side and a fixed boxed end on the other side, Gearwrench Gearbox wrenches are available or Harbor Freight's Icon just released a set but, these aren't cheap. Good luck in your quest

When Stanley bought National Hand Tool they entered into partnership with the Chiro Tool cooperation of Taiwan (original owners of NHT). For over 20 years now Stanley-Chiro International Limited of Taiwan has manufactured quite a few of their hand tools for various Stanley brands. Basically if you want the MAC beam design and font you'll still have to buy from MAC. Its not like a Kabo or Hi-Five where you do a bit of digging and find half a dozen brands selling the same exact tool.

MAC's are all shorter and the Capri have a slight taper to their extended box end broach while the MACs are straight. Capri also doesn't put common companion sizes together like 8x10, 12x14, or 13x15.
