Prepare for a long story.

I work for a fleet maintenance company with 5 techs, and I'm the office manager in the back who wrenches on stuff when he can. Up until a few months ago, we only had a Snap-On guy coming by the shop, but then one of the guys literally chased down a Mac truck, and that's when we met our new Mac guy.

He was cool, and had good prices, so I picked up the occasional part from him. Got a rolling tool cart that I love, a set of Mac Edge sockets which took off bolts like nothing else, and a few other things here and there.

I'm not a "mac guy" or anything, I buy my tools from whoever has the best products. I like Snappy ratchets, but their carts ****. I prefer Mac sockets, but mainly for the price. I buy from whoever gets me the highest quality part for the best price.

Well he had problems with his truck, Mac wasn't helping him, and finally he gave up. We hadn't seen him for a few weeks until yesterday.

Our Mac guy pulls up in a Tundra with buckets of tools. Bags, tupperware bins, even a trash can.

"50% off EVERYTHING!"

Holy **** you should've seen the shop clear out. For $350 I got a reversible die grinder, a stubby pivoting 3/8 ratchet, 3/8 air ratchet with quiet drive, a sae set of reversible ratcheting mac edge wrenches, and the big score, a multimeter for $90! Even better, I'm going to his house today to buy out his socket collection.

Funny thing was I knew the fiancee wouldn't be too happy, so I called her cell, no answer. Called the office, left a message.

"Ok honey, opportunities like this come once in a lifetime. I'm gonna spend some money on tools, I'm sorry, but I think Jesus has risen today, and his name is Ronny the Mac guy."

She called back, she was worried about me buying a box, so she was ecstatic to hear it was just $350.

Wait until tonite. :)

Good haul for you! :bounce:

I don't think I would have even informed my fiancee, just would have asked forgiveness later. Picked that one up after 13 years of marriage!

Back to that MAC dealer. I don't know how any of these new dealers make it in the mobile tool business. You seem to hear about them going down all the time.

P.S. Why do you think S-O carts ****?

I like the visual of the guys rushing out of the shop...lol.

Dang...good deal.

Speaking of guys doing bad in the business...I'm constantly seeing this one Snap-on guy and his truck...it's like a semi truck front end with a huge boxed truck back end....I guess he's doing pretty well.

P.S. Why do you think S-O carts ****?

Mac and Matco both have these little tool cars that have either a slide out stainless top or a expandable top, with 2 drawers below them. In my case I can put all my sockets and screwdrivers in the top section under the stainless, then my wrenches in drawer 1, electrical drawer 2, and most used air tools in drawer 3. With that cart I can wheel around anywhere my little compound and get **** done, no problem. It's not that Snap-on carts are bad, they just don't have an option like my cart.

Curious if there would be enough profit margin to buy it ALL from him and resell it on eBay, on here, or at auction?

I'm guessing he isn't exactly handing out warranty tools these days. I've seen it happen more than once. Pretty sad, actually.

Yup, when an oppertunity like that comes along you need to jump on the good deals best you can. Spend as much as you can on the tools you need.

kdubaz,The first rule of a sucessful marriage is "It is easier to beg forgiveness than to recieve permission."
Since you are still at the "fiancee" stage now is the time for the basic training to be instilled. If you do not do it now it will never take.

BTW They have discovered a food that decreases a womans ****** desire by 90%...
