Ive just bought a set of Mac sockets off ebay and Im missing two, a 23mm and a 29mm deep sockets. I want the set to match (because Im sick of having missmatached tools) so on the socket itself it says, "VD 6 **mm.

Looking it up on ebay I found a socket that is an "XD 6" are there any difference in quality inbetween these two and is there a list of Mac socket id as per quality and place of being made?

Im kinda old and was surprised to find out Mac stuff is not as highly regarded as it used to be. I'd appreciate any info or oppinions on where Mac stuff is on the quality ladder now, and why.

For some reason the AA-web-site does not list mac products; finding date codes is going to be somewhat harder to obtain. If you can hunt down any old catalogs that will be your first step in determining date codes.

As far as Mac goes they have slipped a lot in the past few years, which is very sad for a once great company; today a lot of their tools are coming from overseas.
