Mac sockets

I was out grocery shopping yesterday and there was a second-hand store in the same plaza. They had a bunch of old brand name tools - I picked up some Mac sockets from 17mm to 23mm with no skips for the equivalent of USD 30. I don't have any 19+ sockets in 3/8 and hopefully the price wasn't too bad? Tried to look up info online but was not successful so I figure I should ask the experts. Are these any good in terms of quality? Thanks

MAC sockets are fine quality... that said finding a truck to replace them is the hard thing, I have been working in the cleveland area and have not seen one MAC tool truck in 3 years.... I have since traded or sold off all my MAC tools!

I have heard their phone support is great. (all the truck brands have been great for me over the phone actually).

And it's a good thing too.... I live in one of the most densely populated areas in the states, and I have never seen a Mac truck.

But to answer your question, yes, you have some good quality sockets there, and did well on the price, especially from a retail setting.

I actually like MAC's chrome sockets more than Snap-on, but they fetch a premium even used. Sounds like a good deal to me!

For the folks worrying about warranty, just mail anything broken in with a note that has the part number and description of what's wrong. I did it recently with a locking extension and had a new one in the mail in like a week or so.

Thanks everyone for all the info! I was a little worried about warranty because the local Mac truck doesn't come around since my (former) neighbour hoodwinked him. That said, he does stop by my friend's shop. The sockets feel quite solid and I have put the 17 and 19 to use today. I was a little worried about the price because I remember seeing them once for about $7 apiece new.
