Mac Spark Plug Sockets

Does anyone know what the difference is between the SC177R and SC2032R spark plug sockets? Both appear to be knurled 5/8 sockets but one is $40 and the other is $12. Neither the website nor the catalog have much additional information.

I believe they are USA and Taiwan respectively.

The SC177R is USA and the standard socket they have made for years.

The SC2032R is most likely a "special application" socket. The "20" denotes 5/8". They have made others over the years like SC2832R ,28 denotes 7/8" and SC1832R, 18 denotes 9/16" and both are labeled special application in my catalog.
For $12 bucks it has to be foreign made.

Should be able to get good used on USA made on ebay for about the price of the cheaper one.

Just from reading the "features" of each, other than the price difference, the only other significant is that the more expensive one has a rubber insert which grabs and holds the spark plug when removing and re-inserting?

Neither is worth paying for, spend your good hard earn money on a good quality spark plug socket, like a Koken spark plug socket.
