I figured they were relabeled.
We don't have a Mac guy, so I would rather pay a lot less and get the OEM.

Yeah I think all the Edge wrenches are imported and the rest are made in Dallas, I believe. The Edge wrenches aren't bad wrenches, on par with Blue Point I'd say.

Johnny Cheng makes them in the Mac China sweat shop and gets paid 50 cent a day wages.

I would say Gearwrench makes these wrenches. That wrench set is not worth $249.00.

I guarantee you that gearwrench does not make these. I have a set of the flex head ones like the ones below and they are awesome, also have a set of flexhead gearwrench and while also good they are not near as good as the macs. They are imports and have a screw in the side so you can lube the internals maybe??? Someone on here knows who makes them, it is a company that I am not familiar with.

They are all made in the same factory in China. They will stamp what ever name you like on them. I pefer mine to say Gearwrench. You can get them a lot cheaper without the MAC name stamped on them. I'm not sure but whom ever has the Patent on this... they are making a killing.

I have never seen anything else like the Edge wrenches, whoever is actually making them is only making them for mac. I have a set I use daily, best ratchet wrenches I have ever used.

Do they actually say "USA" on the wrench?

You raise an interesting question. I'm not a tool expert but I thought Armstrong was one of the last MFG's that made their tools here. I have a standard set of Armstrong that says "Made in the USA" but now looking at this stubby set, there is no mention of COO. News to me I guess.***********Correction every stubby wrench says USA except the 10MM which might have been to small for them to put it on.

From Armstrong

"You'd think it'd be easy to figure out if something’s “Made in U.S.A.” If it’s made in America from materials that come from within the 50 states, then it’s “Made in U.S.A,” whether it’s a gym shoe or a ratchet set.

Seems simple enough to us at Armstrong Industrial Hand Tools. Even the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has historically agreed that “all or virtually all” of the components and processes used to make a product must be of U.S. origin to earn the “Made in U.S.A.” honor.

But some manufacturers have wanted to wrap themselves in red, white and blue...while using foreign-made components or processes in their products. They tried to get the FTC to relax the rules determining what’s “Made in U.S.A.” They said that partially America-made is close enough to call it “Made in U.S.A.”

We said that a partial truth is still a lie, and you said that “Made in U.S.A.” should mean just that. And the rest of America agrees.

After two years of public hearings, studies and reports, in December 1997 the FTC reaffirmed the obvious:

product will be considered “...all or virtually all made in the United States” only where “all significant parts and processing that go into the product are of U.S. origin.”

At Armstrong Industrial Hand Tools we believe that stamping our products “Made in U.S.A.” is a privilege that must be earned. You should know that:

•Armstrong ratchets, sockets, wrenches and accessories are “Made in U.S.A.” - from forge to finish.
•We are proud to assure you that Armstrong Industrial Hand Tools marked “Made in U.S.A.” have earned the honor.

So the next time one of our competitors tries to push off ratchets, sockets or wrenches made from foreign forgings as “Made in U.S.A.,” ask them for the honest truth."

I have a Matco Pro Swing set made in USA. Not sure if it is still made in USA though.

Yes, "USA" and "Made in USA" mean the same thing. Beware of terms like Made In America; American Made; COO USA...etc...

The stubby wrenches are exclusive to Mac, The Mac "edge system" will take of a 70% rounded bolt by its design. They are made with US steel and shipped to Taiwan to be assembled and returned to the states for sale. I buy the Mac edge whenever possable because the system really works!

Mine don't have any COO markings on them, but they've been to hell and back without any problems, so I don't really care too much.
