I need a replacement lock assembly for my old Mac box. I could get by with just the lever. I think I bought this toolbox in 1980 . I do remember I paid $500 for it which was a lot of money back then .
From what I see online its maybe a model MB5100. I don't see any writing on the box but pictures look like its this one.
That was over 30 years ago so not much memory on what happened to the original.

You can buy standard replacement locks that come with a few of those lock arms. Different lengths and bends. If you can't find an exact match maybe one will be close enough to modify.

Just make a lock arm from scratch for original lock or use a lock arm that will fit original mac lock and has easy path to mod to fit/function .

I thought about doing that. Not sure what the OEM looked like .

No big deal. I was just going to move this Mac to my shop and wanted to keep it locked. Not going to stop a thief . It might keep someone from walking in a helping themselves when I am cutting my grass .

I no longer work for a living in that shop but I am still there everyday doing something and I need tools on occasion. Might be a bad idea to take the toolbox back to shop anyway.

Tools are there now but they are put away in different places everywhere :) Sometimes I even forget where I put them.

Is the model stamped into the back of the box. I've had good luck with calling MAC and getting parts for really old boxes.
