Hello everyone I purchased a used Mac tool cart and am desperately looking to buy extra keys for it. Mac is no have once I'm not the original purchaser. It's a barrel key and have no clue if there is a company online to try of if there is a cross reference number for another brand. My only local locksmith basically laughed when I asked for a key cut. Any input would be most helpful. Thanks!

Original purchaser or not Mac will sell you a key, if not cut the wild goose chase level way down and buy a new lock with keys, in the end it'd probably be cheaper when you factor in running around trying to find one

I second Roobaix. the plastic end on one of my Mac keys broke off and the Mac Guy said he'd just give me a whole new lock and key set.
Apparently they don't sell individual keys. I also have had bad luck getting the keys made. both at kiosks and hardware stores.

it's kind of a bummer.

Take a look at an RV store. There are a few barrel keys that are used for compartment doors that may work for you.

If you can't order one from MAC, then just order another lock and drill that one out.

I've never played with a Mac round key, but Snap-On is not the same size as a standard Coke machine or Harley key. That's probably why the locksmith laughed when you asked about it. I always just tell people to go back to the mfg on these.

When you call don't tell them you aren't the original owner for one. Just say you lost your key.

Snap On gave me free keys for a used box I bought. I didn't tell them I bought the box used. I just told him I had an old box needed a key. He didn't even ask if it was my box actually. Which I guess doesn't say much for the security of the box huh? LOL
