MAC Tool/Service Carts

Anybody have one of the MAC MB89UCL tool carts? Last week I was thinkin about one of the Excel or other Chi-Com tool carts for use in my garage.. So talking to dad and he says I should forget about the cheap junk. SOOO I took a peek at the MAC site and SO site...the MB89UCL peaks my interest...not exactly sold on the flip top, so I had some questions on that, but figured I'd ask if its a good cart and if people like it?
$289 isnt TOO Bad if its a quality cart., more then I wanted to spend but at the same time, I probably wont live to regret a quality piece.

The SnapOn KRP1HD peaks my interest as well...I was kinda hoping to have drawers, and I'm leery of plastic to begin with. Anybody have one or seen one in person?
More offerings in the BluePoint side which peak my interest, but at that point, minus stickers probably cheaper to just get an off brand to begin with.

I have been debating getting another toolbox for the house and I've come to the conclusion that nothing exists in the price range of the HF 5 drawer cart. Yes, it is Chinese but there are dozens of members here that are quite happy with the quality. I have been trolling CL religiously for several months now and nothing even comes close. A nice 26" Snap-On 7 drawer was 650. Passed on a nice yellow 3 drawer SO cart for 450. The HF cart is $169 with a coupon. And from all reports it is a pretty solid cart. One big regret in buying Chinese is that after buying it, it is practically worthless in resale. If you take care of this cart, it will always be worth at least $150.

I got at 5 drawer from HF the US general one, And I love it very good quality. I don't expect to sale it so I don't need SO or a mac its just good movable storage. The only problem is no side shelf I found a shalf on Northern tool I'm going to try to adapt to it.

I'm not against the HF Cart at all....well I should say "I wasnt"...Biggest issue is the $89 bucks shipping..making the deal not so good. No coupons + shipping = dangerously close in price to a good one.
Then I got my dad telling me to forget about Harbor Freight Junk and go with a MAC or Snappy. Bonus with those 2 is no shipping and I can get a color i'd like and as my dad said "not worry about anything". After reading the HF Cart Mod Thread earlier this week, If there were one local, I would have one in my garage by now.

Torn is the easiest way to describe it...In a perfect world, I'd get the KRSC10FPC...thats the one I really want. Just a bit steep for me right now...that kind of money goes a long way in finishing the interior of the shop. Heck with that kind of money, I'd have everything needed to finish the interior completely.

I bought a mac roll cart. It has the lid and a single drawer. I think the capacity is 125 lb per drawer. I've had it for 10 years. Had really no major problems. I wouldn't keep heavy things in the drawer though. Over a long period of time. It has taken a lot of a lot of use. And still in service.
It was a good investment

Why not go with the MB100UC? It has a flip top and a drawer and is about the same price.

I was going to go with the MB89UC without the lid because I don't need to lock anything up as nothing walks out of our shop. Then if I needed more space I was just going to get an add on drawer for it. But I can't find it on the mac site so they may not make it anymore. It was 259.99.

That cart looks like a Flambeau Mighty Mo to me. Which I am sure you can find cheaper.

If those are your two choices I would go mac. The snap on just looks like an over priced rubbermaid cart to me.

I think you'll find the MAC cart you are refering to, is probably produced in China as well. I do not know the number, but I recently ran across a MAC cart fitting that description, on my Cornwell dealers truck as a trade in. I looked like a decent item

Mostly because in case I plopped something down long on it like a 4' level or what have you I wanted a flat top so things could extend over the edge. This will be a general home garage service cart, so I'll be doing everything from carpentry & electrical with it now to routine service on my Deere 3520 or workin on my Bobcat 325 down the road (not to mention hopefully restore a tractor soon)

Same thought here...but then I thought for 30.00 just getting the lid and if anything removing or making a butcher block top to replace it. If you look at the pic the base is different too.

Why yes it does...thanks for that tip! AAP has it which means coupon codes might bring it down, but its still plastic.. Not entirely sure I want to go down that road.

COO doesnt bother me anymore, if it did, I'd have to walk to work in my bare feet...no car, no truck, no tractor, no computer, no phone...heck no clothing either....
I'd like to get my eyes on the Mac....I'm waiting on a text pic back from a Matco cart I got a lead on...

I was looking at the new snap on cart with the sliding stainless steel top that looks nice that even has a recess for your odd jobs but that is me I cannot think of the model number

+1. They seem pretty good when I have checked them out. Was looking at one last week when I went to HF. They have a coupon in this weeks flyer for a tool cart coupon for like $300 something.
