I'll contribute and show off tools whenever I can

All I'm gonna say now is Damn you Roland-5.0 (I mean that in the nicest possible way)...You just cost me a few bucks....Mac Guy was across the street from where I work..I've been meaning to get a quote on a service cart and I did...but I also saw that beautiful screwdriver set you posted originally...He made me a great offer, and you can see by the pics I've officially joined the "Green MAC" club..This is the reason why I'm kinda/sorta glad the trucks dont stop here at my work..

Do all the tool truck mfgs print descriptive info on shipping/storage trays in case you forget what goes where.... or don't know what's what?

Just curious....

The SnapOn screwdriver cases & trays I have are all blank...as you can see by the various pics, this one is fully marked...Which I like...and I'll be honest, that fully marked foam tray/liner is part of the reason I got this set. Price was right as well. Anxious to see how I like these...

Now I'm online researching to see if they offer a Neon Green Square Drive set...Damn You Guys... :)
Hi, I'm Dave... I'm a Tool-A-Holic....Genetic...inherited it from my Dad, my brother suffers from it as well.

That's actually not a bad deal. Snap in drivers go for about 15-17 bucks a piece. This set is 10 a piece. I will be ordering this

They were just on sale for 169 cdn a month or two ago

150 (USD) is what he told me...my driver had 2 sets left at promo pricing...sprinkle in a Cash on the barrel head discount I got...I think I got a good deal.

Seriously I was suprised actually, this was my first encounter with him, never stepped foot on his truck, and I left happy & impressed. Even though I point blank told him I wouldnt be a huge customer as I just tinker at home, etc.. he was MORE then nice to me and treated me well. I can see doing much more business with him.

Spudland_Dave, That's money very well spent. I bet those large handles with the sticky rubber give you lots of torque.

I read on a gun forum last night that a guy spent $40 on a 100 rounds of .45ACP ammo to burn up at the shooting range. What does he get for his money? A few paper targets with some holes in them...

Thanks for the vote of confidence...Doesnt take much for me to blow money on a tool truck. Its like an alcoholic hanging out in a liquor store.....I may have fell off the wagon...emailed the Mac guy this afternoon about the 3/8" Extension set with these same handles...yup, he might have em next week when he's in my area..what I am supposed to do when he gives me deals :dunno:

Well in todays enviroment, 40 bucks of practice might proove to be a good thing...

One of the handiest tools I ever owned when I used to work on VWs years ago was this MAC S-160 valve adjuster. Much better and sturdier than the Hazet tool.

MAC service cart

Got it used for $200

I found a semi-local guy selling one of these for $500, it's basically new but is used. he's had it up for months on craigslist and always says firm, yet when he started it he had it listed at over $600.

What should I offer him when I call this week? It doesn't have the add on drawers that yours does though.

Come at him with 400 but, for 500 with the additional drawers is still a good deal considering its around 1200 new. It is a big service cart by the way more like a 36" roll cab. Keep us posted on what happens.

Sorry i thought you said it does have the extra drawers. Offer him 300 I wouldn't want to pay more than 400

I look at it as it is an essential tool to have. There's one thing I would love to bitchslap Cummins engineers for and that's that damn air compressor design. They make 4 different styles of wrenchs just for an air compressor. Dumb.

I saw those in the flyer, but not sure if I'd use them enough. I picked up last months deal of the set of 3 extended reach needle nose pliers in 0, 45, 90 degree offsets.

I'm always finding myself using an extension as a "nut driver" so when I saw some with a genuine handle on em, I had to have em....I know they'll get some use around here. I've had a crapsman 1/4" version for a while which I've always liked.

I do not consider myself one sided, I think that different companies make things more to my liking than others. I do have several MAC tools and they are great. Probably my favorite is the 0 degree metric wrench set. I have a 3/8 drive socket set (USA) that has been very faithful, a 1/2 drive impact hex set, 1/2 drive 30-250ft lb torque wrench, and numerous pliers.

I have been thinking about getting some of the 0 degree double box end wrenches

only brand who has their high performance wrenches made in Taiwan unfortunately. If you get a set made before 08 they'll be USA.

I don't have access to a Mac truck so this is all I've got. Found both tools, pry bar was laying in a gutter on a street corner, the pick I got from under a customers rear seat while doing a fuel pump.

What I like about MAC sockets is that they narrow the socket on the drive end. I think that looks cool.
