Well Mac and Proto are basically one in the same, so they should be similar. Do yourself a favor and buy a set off eBay, or buy the OEM/rebrand. For instance, a lot of Mac and Matco tools are the same as Knipex, Channellock and even Craftsman. Plus a whole lot more. I don't have time right now to find long reach rebrands, but check this out - If you've never seen this, I think it will blow your mind. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=249851

Yeah I wish I could try some of those pliers out I'm in the process of buying long reach pliers and can't decide between the type you posted with the springs or the USa version with the squiggly shaped handles (I think proto/blackhawk have similar looking ones as mac). Matco also have some without springs so I'm so confused haha.
This guy has several types of pliers for sale. I and many others on GJ have bought these and have great results with them. He also sells proto long reach dykes.

I've got very few MAC tools left, after 30+ years in the business, I'd venture to guess its been 20 or more since I've seen or had a reliable Mac dealer in the area. They never seemed to stick around for long.
I always liked their super long combination wrenches, they're just a bit longer than Snap On's.
When I was in the market for a new tool box, I wanted the biggest Maximizer, (Had a guy in the shop that moved from the west coast with one), but couldn't find a dealer or a source. I even called Mac tools and was told they don't service this area and wouldn't even give me the name of the nearest dealer. That was in 2001.
I had a few good dealers back in the 80's, one retired, the other just quit showing up. That was in the early 90's.

My old box was a Mac and it was filled with Mac tools, except for ratchets (they weren't the greatest back in 2004). I and a pretty good dealer that would stop by like clock work. No one else would stop by, maybe once a month you would see a different truck. Since I got out of the industry stop buying stuff. Now,after 10 years I'm going back and have been getting Snap On as he stops near the shop every week.
So,I will be posting photos in the next few days or so of my Mac tools.

I picked up this mini Mac box a garage sale a few months ago, I still haven't found anything to put in it yet. It was to cool to pass up though, I'm sure I'll find something soon.IMG_20170324_230007771.jpgIMG_20170324_230036058.jpg

I must admit that with all these Mac threads appearing from the past I am not sure which one to post to now. This one was started before all the others from what I see and has 97K views. Maybe these could be merged as they would add up to well over 137k. Just a thought.
