Mac tool warranty

Sorry if I'm asking a question that has already been answered. Tried the search and came up empty handed.
I bought a Mac special edition Foose box loaded with Mac tools this weekend. Great set and I got a great price on them. Problem is, they have a sort of black chrome finish, several sockets have chrome peeling. I'm not a pro wrencher and don't have access to a tool truck. Does anyone know if Mac would warranty these? I checked thier website and the warranty was vague, warranty against manufacture defect for the expected life of the product. I thought Mac was on par with Snapon and Proto. If so, they should replace these. I won't be in a bind without them as I have a pretty good set already. I just don't want to send them back and wait 6 weeks to hear they won't cover the defect. Thanks for any info.

If the chrome is peeling, that is a warranty issue check the link below for more info on that. You may want to call and find out what they say first.

I may be wrong, but I am 99% shure those are not real Mac tools, just Stanley import stuff labeled with MAC for these collector kits. I also think they did not have a lifetime warranty for some reason, but that would be odd, as mac and Stanley both have lifetime.
Neat kits and Stanley stuff is ok, they still sell the black sets at Walmart for $50, so I think you should be able to get new black ones. Hope you did not pay any more than stanley prices for it though! You may have better luck getting the item # off the socket sizes you need from that walmart set and calling Stanley if Mac can't help you.

If it's sold under MAC tool, I am sure it's covered by their warranty. Just like Blue-Point under Snap-On.

I had Snap-On ratchet chrome peeling on the bottom handle, replaced no problem.

I've heard something about some truck brand collector tools not being guaranteed. Can't recall the details though.

Anyways if the tools are guaranteed MAC will replace them no problem. Last time I mailed stuff in I had everything back in under two weeks.

They won't warranty those. Both the Foose and Jesse James tool kits came in that size box and were not under the same warranty as the regular line of tools. The price was a lot cheaper when they sold those sets on the truck. Lower than the blackhawk line even. Nobody bought them because of the warranty issue.
