MAC Tools 18" What Is It? Socket

Mac sure carried a lot of specialty wrenches and sockets over the years.

I haven't found anything about this one.

This looks older.

3/8 drive with 1/2" socket

Does anyone know or have an old catalog at hand?

Is the extension welded to the socket? Could be a jack screw for a race car.

Have you contacted MAC and asked them?

Maybe an adjuster of some sort? If that weld if home made that's pretty good but kind of looks factory.

We used something like that in the '70's to adjust MoPar torsion bars while on the alignment rack...

Looks kinda like a subaru head bolt socket my dad had

It's for a diesel engine like Cummins or Cat for a head bolt or something in that lines but it's a diesel specialty tool made for 1 specific bolt I'm 100% sure of that much. I've seen same tool on eBay.

It's a long reach 3/8" drive 1/2" socket!.... What more do we need to know?

It was def made and welded this way in the factory.

Oddball Mac sockets, always fun to try and i.d. with so few resources. Hmmm, I might have to see if contacting them gets a definitive answer.
