Hi everyone!
I'm hoping someone where can answer my question regarding the MB1305UC from Mac tools.
The top compartment, can it be opened without being pushed back? Also, is there a separate lock for the drawers inside the top compartment or is it all locked together?
I really wished that it was possible to actually physically check out a tool box/cart before ordering one..
Thanks!

The top is only accessible by sliding the two halves of the top outward. The 'in lid' or 'flip up' storage is only accessible after the top halves have been slid at least partially out. The key lock locks the top in the "closed" position. The drawers are locked and unlocked by a small lever inside the top compartment itself

Isn't that the MB199UC?
the MB1305UC has a single sliding top that goes backwards

The top and drawers are locked together.

I think you have to push back the top (1/2-1")before it can open but I would have to double check tonight when I get home. It is kind of seamless (at least how I use it) so I cant really remember off the top of my head but It has a click when closed, but that may just be a detent.

The top slides back the same distance as the rear storage area depth. If you don't slide it back, you can't access that area. Because of that, I wouldn't put it in a spot where you are up against a wall. My garage has a footer so the wall is set back a little from where the cart sits so I've never really thought about it much.

FWIW, overall I really like the cart. I wish it had more drawer space but the vertical storage holds a ton. Its rock solid and rolls with little to no effort.

Thanks Aaron. If you could get back to me about the top compartment opening without pushing back, I'd really appreciate it
