Mac tools MB8800 Clean and Lube
I got a used Mac MB8800 this weekend and needed to clean it up. I had just done my other box so I had all the stuff I needed. This is a ball bearing box with detents.
You cannot remove the drawers with the sides on like a Snap-on box. Push the little tabs on the inside of the box and pull the front of the slide out while pushing the drawer back. This will separate the slides from the drawer.

Once everything is out, I cleaned and lubed.

This box had all small drawers on top and I wanted a 4”, so I switch around the slides to get the correct layout.

Looks real nice!! That is a little project all in itself. Takes a bit longer then one might think. Fortunatley, it should be a long time before it has to be done again.

Very nice. What did you use to clean it up? That looks very cube-ish, what are the dimensions? Price paid, background story? :dunno: Nice box

Definitely a lot of work. I had just done a snap-on box and it came apart pretty fast.
As for cleaning I used break clean and compressed air. Soapy water on the paint and gum off on the stickers. Finished it up with super lube on the slides.
The guy wanted 600 and it smelled like wet dog.:wtf:
I talked him down to 480 because he could not find the key. Anyone know where to get a key?
Box is 32 wide, 25 deep, 41 tall. Drawers are 24x28.
Wheels are coming off and its going to be used for a work bench.
Check my Hobby garage for more details.

Very nice. Looks super beefy and of good size.
Mac has the keys, give them a call with the lock #. I forget exactly what they cost but they are not much. Definitely less than $120. :lol_hitti
