I found a 10 piece Mac plier set in a zippered bag today at the flea market.
I tried to do a search on Mac pliers and find out what everyone thought of them .
These are brand new for $ 100 are these a good quality ?

I would get them if I was there. Did he sell them? Maybe next flea day or get his name/number to get them later.

We need more information. Mac re-brands Knipex, Channellock, and some slightly crappy Chinese stuff. I have a pair of Mac pliers that I'm 95% confident came out of the Harbor Freight plant - except for the color of the grip they're identical.

Mac ran two different "Bag-O-Pliers" sales last year. One had like 12 pair of various pliers & cutters and the other was welding pliers. I assume they run these sales regularly. I bought the random one and they are OK. I jumped on them for the deal, but the finish hasn't held up well even on the ones that don't see much/any use. I'm also a little disappointed in the teeth on them. The two sides don't mesh together very well and they flatten out easily. But with my luck I just got a dud set.

I have a couple of the smaller pliers out of that set, they are actually fairly decent.

Those sets have been on sale, several times, for about $100. I bought 5 sets. 1 for work, 1 for home, and 3 sets I sold piece by piece on ebay for a nice profit.

I think a lot of people are fooled by the Mac name. Not realizing that Mac has a a good set that are USA made, and this cheaper set, that is made in china.

I'll have to say that mine have held up really well though. I use them every day at work and don't baby them at all. They do have a lifetime warranty. One thing I hated was the self-opening springs, so I cut them all off.

I wouldn't buy them again. They were like $100 on the truck but they're made in China and don't hold up well over time. Mine are all rusting and the springs that open them are just bent spring steel inserted under the grip rubber. Many have fallen out never to be found again. Just garbage if you ask me. If I could get my money back I would in a heartbeat.

JASTECH,

Just don't buy MAC and you'll be good. I stopped paying a premium for used MAC because they are warrantying US made tools with overseas stuff. I laugh almost weekly at flea market vendors who want top dollar for MAC stuff.
