How valuable are these MAC wrenches bought in the late 1970's? I'm the original owner, and looking to sell them. The 9/16 is missing though. 7/8 down to 1/4. Near mint condition. They are CW series.

If they have owners marks the value goes down according to how bold and big the markings are. $55 to $70 minus $10 for the shipping. Find a 9/16 used for a couple bucks at a yard sale and the value will go up slightly. But you have to find the right person. If they were Snap on would be worth more and sell faster in my experience.

I love MAC extensions with the knurling on the end and the middle, makes it easy to finger tighten bolts without needing a separate driver. The M4EK is brand new, 2021. The X6EK is much older, I got it used off ebay. Interesting to note, the newer knurling is more aggressive although both work well.

Bringing this thread back to the top, not many MAC fans on here to keep this thread going. Will have another set to post next week when I get it.

Just added the 3/8" and 7/16", still need to find a 5/16" and 3/4" to complete the setDSCN8697.JPGDSCN8696.JPG

An observation, and information

First wrench has no date code, wide font on wrench size and CL24

Second wrench has a C3 (1978 3rd quarter) date code, wide font on wrench size a dot in between CL and 24.
For reference A1 (1976 1st quarter) is when MAC started date stamping tools

Third wrench has a F3 (1981 3rd quarter) date code, smaller font on wrench size, smaller font on CL24 and the dot in between is gone

MAC-Drive, pat pend and patent numbered wrenches are from the early70's, possibly late 60's. They were short-lived due to a law suit from Snap on. MAC-Drive was very similar to Flank-DriveDSCN8737.JPGDSCN8739.JPGDSCN8740.JPGDSCN8741.JPGProtoDateStamps.jpgDSCN8742.JPG

I have two ratchets and a multi driver.
I only use the ¼" ratchet. The 3/8" ratchet is model X7R. The multi driver might only have one of the original bits.
Also, I have a 3/16" universal spark plug socket buried somewhere. I found it when I was out quadding
about 35 years ago.

I was pointed by Private Lugnutz to the original thread which I missed when creating this thread in 2021. Please forward future posts to the original thread
