Ask him if you do not mind. It's a great idea!

I do not see much MAC in MA yardsales as well...

I inherited a bunch of MAC stuff from my father, my fav being a stubby wrench set (metric). One of those sets that I don’t need very often, but when I do they are clutch!!

I have a long swivel head 3/8” ratchet, I’ve gone through 5-6 heads in it. ***** that I have to chase a truck down when it breaks, I usually ambush the poor bastards at the gas station when I see them[emoji1787][emoji1787]

I cant see them either.
Usually this issue is because of Imgur on GJ but that's never been a problem for me.

He's posting them from his Google Drive account and there are no permissions for 3rd party use.

My MAC tools I use regularly (well, when the ratchet isn’t broken). They are about 30 years old.

Used to have their 3/8” 12V ratchet, but I found it slow and heavy - so that got traded in for a long neck Snap-on.

When it comes to hand tools, a lot of their prices for rebranded import stuff approaches the Snap-on equivalent which are usually made in USA, so consequently I have a lot more Snap-on tools. I do like those Precision Torque wrenches - I would have considered buying those if I didn’t already have my flank drive plus set.

Something must be wrong with my connection, it seems like I’m the only one who can’t see Spike’s pictures...

I'm not sure what the issue is with the pictures. They are hosted on my google account. Maybe a moderator can shed some light on the issue. I could try another hosting service as well.

I love MAC tools. To me they are the best out there. I recently just completed my dream 3/8 dr socket set all MAC USA shallow and deep SAE and Metric. I also have a few ratchets from MAC and just ordered 2 more of there locking handled extensions (spinner handles) today. I get MAC for a great deal almost HF priced threw work which helps me love them that much more!

Last weekend I responded to an ad for a beater toolbox with tools. It looked like it has some MAC wrenches so I quickly went over. I came back with two beater tool boxes with some tools. I ended up with a set of MAC metric combination wrenches, a set of deep metric 3/8" sockets and a few metric Saltus wrenches. Unfortunately it was missing the 13mm combination wrench, but maybe I can eventually find one.

I suspect the tools are 90's vintage based on the other Craftsman sockets were from that vintage. There is some chrome chipping and some of the forging is a bit crude on the wrenches, but they feel good in the hand. The deep sockets are different though.

I had to put together some furniture this past weekend, and pulled out the SBDR123SA ratcheting bit holder/bit set pictured earlier in this thread. That might be the greatest "around the house set ever" - it was literally the only set of tools I needed to put together 3 different pieces of furniture...

How's the best way to get ahold of a Mac driver? I tried 2 different zip codes on the Mac website.

Just call the MAC number and order from them. If you want a promo from the monthly flyer, just mention it and they will honor the pricing.

They may have better info on potential MAC driver as well, or there may not be a route nearby to you.

The "Mac Man" around here was a stable presence for decades. He was in business before I was; and lasted until a few years ago. First thing I ever bought from a "Tool Truck" was a Mac idle-mixture-screw adjuster; about 1980.

The "New" Mac Man seems to care about customer service. I have Mac air drills, one needs a reverse-thread chuck screw. He's tried to help me with that but without success because the drills have been discontinued by the manufacturer. Even the folks who made the drills for Mac (Viking Tools) don't have parts.

I never did like the finish on Mac impact sockets . . .

IMG_4864 copy.jpegIMG_4865.jpeg

Actually, these are semi-survivors of the wildfire that got our house and shop six years ago. The sockets were part of my first 3/8" impact set that were a gift from my father-in-law back in the 80s-- what a guy! I need to clean these up and put them back in service, though I think that I'll use them for lighter duty only, like with a butterfly and not turned up to eleven. Anyway, something different for the thread.

I have been buying Mac for over 40 years. For the most part I have been lucky enough to end up with GREAT dealers, They are the ones that make or break a deal just like other brands. If a dealer won't stand behind what he sells it's not worth buying.

I have seen a very disturbing trend since the new CEO (former Stanley exec. I think) has taken over, He seems to think the route sales should match the sales of the big box stores and gives little, if any support to the franchise owners. the district manager just quit because of the lack of support. They run the monthly specials and when the dealers try to order them they are on back order. When the back orders do come in it may be 3 months worth and the dealers must take it ALL or none AND pay for it in 30 days in addition to the regular stock. I can see dealers getting disgusted and calling it quits.
