Just wanted to start a little experiment starting today. I had a wrench I had that has been "spread" and a broken socket that have been sitting around forever because I have no mac dealer in my area. Got bored the other day and found the shipping address. Packed it up and sent it out today. We are going to see just how long this takes.....

Anyone else have experience sending stuff in? I only have a handful or so of mac stuff...thank goodness. But I decided enough is enough I myswell spend 2 bux and ship the stuff out and see what happens

Yeah, they're fast. Much faster than Snap-On, even.

I sent a ratchet in and got a new one back no problem.

Me too. I'm ashamed to admit I probably (don't know for sure) damaged it myself--and told them that. They cheerfully told me to send it in for "repair." Less than a week later I received a new one in exchange for my well worn one that I may have broken myself. I'm a fan for life. :rocker:

Ok cool...better news than I thought. If assume it's a no questions asked ordeal? The wrench I'm sending in is an old line wrench I had that has done it's fair share of rounding off nuts to where it got retired. It still cosmetically looks fine which is why they might ***** about it. I since got some snap on line wrenches which I have had nothing but great luck with.
Anyway since that busted socket I decided I myswell gather up what I got and send it in n take a crack at it

I only had a couple sent in that I had to wait a little bit longer, they were on back order recieving a card on these saying they were on back order. It was a ratchet, breaker bar and a punch so far.I have sent in at least 6 wore out impact sockets and Mac warrantied them.Never questioned me on them at all.

I sent some stuff in on a Friday a few months back and got all brand new tools on the next Wednesday via UPS. I was shocked at the quick turn around. They put Snap On to shame when it comes to how fast they ship stuff.

My slip through the post office said they would have it saturday so I'm guessing they will get it Friday if it gets there early or Monday at te latest.
So if I get new stuff by the end of next week I'll be happy. We'll see what happens and I'll give an update later ....
Keep tuned!

This thread inspired me to dig out two broken MAC tools I've had for a while. I sent them a T47 3/8 drive Torx bit and a 6 inch 3/8 drive wobble extension. I mailed them via Priority Mail today with a scheduled delivery of Monday. We shall see.

Awesome..so are we racing? Haha I technically got a head start. The post office told me saturday(tomorro) it would get there so technically they won't get it till Monday cuz I'd assume they are closed Saturdays.

Honestly, they can take as long as they want. I love MAC tools and will be very happy to have them back to complete my two sets.

I dunno, at 5 PM EST on 12/26 I emailed Snap On customer service about two broken screwdrivers I had. At 6 PM they responded to my email and asked for my shipping address. 5 days later I had two new drivers in my mailbox. That's pretty quick :D.

Allright guys UPDATE!!!!

good news and bad news. The good news is I just got home from work and there is a package on my front door. Opened it up and there was a brand new wrench inside but no socket. The invoice didn't say anythinf about the socket either. I called mac and told them about it and they got my info and said they would need to investigate it...ughhh come on

Talked to MAC again today and they told me the reason I didn't get the socket is because they were out of stock on it and as soon as they get it that it would be drop shipped to me
Works for me

Not Monday. Postal holiday.

Really though, no hurry on my part. They have been broken for years. I just mailed them in on a whim when I read your thread.

Interesting thread to me at least, as I always deal in person. I had to wonder how MAC could not have the socket in stock but now I see it is an oddball.
Looks like they are good at following up with customers.

To recap, I mailed my stuff off on Friday and received the replacements Monday, a week later.

Sorry for poor picture. I'm at work and my wife texted it to me from her phone.

Awesome good to hear! I was very impressed with their speed and how they sent me a post card saying they were out of stock on the one item. Very good customer service. This is the way it should be!

No. I bought my tools 20 years ago from a Mac man who is probably not even still alive. I have no receipts. I just put the broken tools in an envelope with my name, address, phone number, and a list of what tools were in the envelope.

Wow a receipt? Nah they never said anything about that when I first called them. They just told me to send em in with my name n tool list n return address

They make receipts now a days to fade after 6 months...
You almost have to make a photo copy and file it away for the rest of ur life
F that!

Took me almost a month, sent them a few items. Down side is they sent me a stanley hammer and the wrong type of snap ring pliers. Mac won't be around for long, their master ball joint kit is COO China. Going the craftsman route...down hill.

I sent in a big box of stuff 24 pounds to be exact from several different people. I wonder how this is going to go. I did type it all up into a spread sheet so it wont be a complete nightmare for the poor soul that opens the box. I just hope I don't get a bunch of Stanley and China replacements.

This post inspired me to send in a busted MRR6PA 1/4 ratchet I've had for a while. It was pretty beat up and the gear was stripped. Called Monday the 13th and questioned the receipt thing and was told it was not needed. Mailed it out that afternoon and came home to a brand spanking new one last night!
I say thumps up MAC!
Now I'm going to have to find that MR5 I found on the side of the road that's all rusted and froze up and send that back...

Are you aware that Stanley owns Proto and MAC......so what difference does it make, it probably comes from the same factory.

If you sent in a snap on ratchet for warranty....would you like a Williams one back?? No you want the original or better brand back that's all.
Like paying for a Lincoln navigator but they give you a expedition.

Except in your examples there are big differences. All hes saying is its the same exact hammer but without MAC cast into the plastic and hes right, it is.

I'd want a MAC one back simply because that's the brand I purchased and obviously it carries a higher value being associated with that brand and possibly a difference in warranty terms. Simple as that.

Exactly....if I paid for a higher value name...I want that same back. Try ñ sell that Stanley on ebay vs the mac one....same hammer..see which one sells higher
That's why I'm saying I'd be calling the number and be fussing with the customer service

One catch with your idea......Williams and Snap On are different tools, not the same ratchet a different name on it.

Also, who is to say that Stanley/Mac is dropping the Mac name from some items to save money by doing a single production run?

My Fluke 73iii says both Mac & Fluke on it. If i sent it to Fluke to get it repaired and they send me back a "plain" Fluke without Mac on it, should I complain to Fluke? Did it really lower it's value? Doubt it....

All I'm sayin is I wouldn't want a Stanley in return if I originally paid for the mac name
Geez didn't think my context was gonna get so pulled apart
