I have a Mac ratchet that is now discontinued and they will not do anything about it. This is a joke atleast snap on would replace with the updated one.

i have sent old screwdrivers back and was sent the latest version of the screwdriver. I am surprised unless its some type of odd ball ratchet. It may not be the same ratchet, but it seems it would be equivalet.

Look up MAC Warranty on this forum... just send it in and they will send you a updated version. No need to get a RMA # etc. I've had excellent experiences with MAC and their warranty.

Yes, you can email snap on and list the item numbers and problem and they will email you a return label to print out and ship the tools in and they will send new ones out right away. I have had GREAT customer service with the snap on warranty issues because I don't have a tool truck either.

I sent in some tools to Mac about a month ago and they just sent back replacements about 2 weeks later. I didn't have an RMA or anything. They did send me the wrong stuff back but I e-mailed them and got it cleared up. In the end I was happy.

Sounds you have the problem inherent in dealing with all of the truck vendors. They're not your friends unless you buy something from them or you owe them money.

Go to the Mac website. You should find satisfaction there.

Mac is owned by Stanley and Stanley does their warranty

That's why I'm confused here. How is it Stanley that was giving you the problem if the Mac tool guy wasn't warrantying your defective tool? Isn't it Stanley that is ultimately replacing the tool for you now?

It was corporate that didn't want to warranty the item I threatened to not do business with them and go to snap on

Mac so far is the best on warranty tools. never need to a single person just mail in and waitting for a week or so, even on air tools. I have them rebuit 2 impact guns and an air ratchet, they were old made in Japan, all done in couple weeks and never charged me a penny.

So did you even attempt to contact corporate before you made a nice "Mac warranty a joke thread' ? If the dealer wouldn't warranty it and corporate refused as well, then you would be ok to slam them.

My recent experience as well. Could not have been anymore painless.
Sent in an old XR11FPA and got back a XR13FPA in a matter of days.
Also have had similar experience lately with Snappy, Proto and Cornwell.

Excellent service from all.

i fought with mac several years ago over a discontinued (round head) ratchet as well.

they finally replaced it with new pear shaped head one, it's been the absolute worst ratchet ive ever had.
dealer has "rebuilt" it several times, usually last 2 weeks and strips again.

i see a mac truck once or twice a year, and promises to be "back next week"

and disappears again for months.

it's in the junk bin with all the rest of the broken mac ****

Problem I have with the "Mac warranty" is you have to pay shipping to send it in. That's not really what I signed up for when I bought the tool and paid through my nose vs. getting a store brand like C-man.
Maybe I'm the only one that feels this way but I think it's stupid to have to pay $5-6 to ship a $5-6 socket replaced.
Honestly if I sent in all the broken Mac stuff I have I'd probably spend $50 in shipping and I'd receive 90% chinese or taiwan replacement tools. I might as well spend $50 at HF and get the same thing.
See why I don't buy Mac anymore?

Just for everyone's info Snap-On pays both ways and will honor the warranty.
