I got a hex socket I need to send them.
They told me on the phone just send it in. They don't pay shipping to them however which *****. I'm thinking just leave it in my car until I see a MAC truck driving down the road.

I was wondering how to get Mac tools replaced if I send them in. Do I have to get a call tag like I do with Snap On or can I just send them in?

Just send it to them with a note and they will pretty quickly send you a replacement. Sometimes they Fed Ex it back that requires a signature so send to where someone will be to sign for it. They are one of the fastest turn aorund people in the tool biz.

I sent in a ratchet a while ago and just included a note with my phone number, email address, and return address in the box, about 3 weeks later the replacement showed up.

Little communication to let me know whether they could rebuild or replace it, or even just let me know that they got it would have been nice I thought, but overall I'm not complaining.

I normally take mine to my driver, lately I've been so disappointed with warranties on mac tools. I tried to warranty my older Mac gear wrenches through my driver. I recalled asking him.

ME: Hey *driver* does mac warranty popping chrome on wrenches? These wrenches I have are really falling apart.
Driver: Sure do
ME: Great I have a older set of gear wrenches that the chrome has totally started to fall apart on.
Driver: Let me see them.
Showed the tools to driver.
Driver: Actually we don't make this model anymore.
ME: I'd assume they're been replaced over the years, they're about 15 years old now.
Driver: Yeah well I cant warranty them since they don't make them anymore but if you need a set here's what Mac replaced them with.

I could go on, but after that I got pretty heated and felt Mac should warranty them since they were really falling apart (not abused wrenches either). If they upgraded the tool thats what they should give me. Am I wrong here? Then to have the audacity to argue with me and try to sell me another $300 set of wrenches (the updated ones).

I even called Mac (didn't name drop my drivers name or try to get him in some kind of dispute with mac) and it was the same scenario but I gave corporate a hard enough time were they offered to send me a taiwanese junk set with a 1 year limited warranty.

Now I have some impact sockets (totally shot and rounded for years of loyal use) I'm trying to warranty and according to Mac corporate they don't warranty worn sockets only defected or shattered ones. But I might get lucky and whoever checks the sockets in warranty might send me new ones the operator told me.

It ***** spending a ton of money on these tools, and then getting treated like that. Guess whose done buying Mac.

Sorry, for the bitter ramble, true story.

yikes! You are right by the way...if they discontinue somthing they should replace it with the closest thing they have currently in their catalog. If i were you i would talk to your driver again and voice your concerns...if he is of no help...ebay them and go elsewhere.

What should I write on the note?

Please send me Mac tools to replace my broken Mac tools, I will notice if they're not. :lol_hitti

I would bring it up with the driver again, but he makes me feel like a burden every time I need to warranty something, and last time I made a stink (the only time a made a stink) was about those wrenches. I didn't treat him like it was his fault or a jerk, and he didn't show up for a few months. As if to penalize me or something.

I usually write down the Part # of the tool and what it is along with any contact info needed (address, phone, e-mail)

Sometimes If the problem is not obvious I note whats wrong with it.

Check the link below for thier contact info/warranty address.

I would cost me like half of what the socket is worth to get it replaced in my situation. I never agreed to send any tools in for warranty. They should pay BOTH ways like Snap-on does.

Thanks for the info, maybe I'll just send it in with a note and hope they don't send some off brand wrenches back.

What a clown...i would not buy from him because he is a d bag. I love snap on but dont buy much from my snap on guy because hes a nut sack. I just buy it online...and deal with corprate for returns.
