Recently got a house with a detached 20x20 garage that I'm turning into a prototype/manufacturing work shop. I've finally finished enough projects in the house that I can start working on the garage. I'm in South bay area of Los Angeles so lots of sun with the garage seeing some part of it at any given time. The garage itself is from the 1950s, unfinished with an open ceiling , one door and two small vents near the floor which I'm supposing is to prevent me from getting co2 poisoning.
All that said, there's no air movement and heat builds up quickly. The goal is to keep it at some normal temperature where I can do 3d printing and cnc work as well as welding in the future. I'm contemplating doing r19 insulation and adding an exhaust fan to at least get some air circulation going. Not too concerned about heating and really don't want to rely on AC to survive in the shop.
Is my plan good enough or is there something else the hive mind of garage journal can recommend?
