Anyone tell me the name/use for this tool? Appears to have multiple settings to index your work.
Brand/Mfgr?

Picked it up at an estate tag sale for $5
Now just to figure out what to do with it.

Spin index fixture.
Can in some ways work like an index head but the index head will be more precise and more versatile.
Still a good tool to have. That one looks like it's Chinese but again they can be very helpful for doing direct indexing, holding round stuff to drill and cross drill, holding round stuff for cutting a keyway...etc

its an indexing head or indexing jig. it is mounted on the table ways of a bridgeport type vertical milling machine but can be used on a horizontal miller or any other machine as needed. it holds a round part and it indexes the part so one can mill, drill, or somehow machine that part. it divides the part equally around. can be any division, four sided, six sided, eight, thirteen fourty seven, etc etc. kind of like cutting a bolthead on a round part

Adding to what Jim said, this type unit can be indexed in one degree increments. The various holes in the main casting are used to get numbers other than 10 degree increments.

Thanks guys, I had kind of figured basically what it does or could do, just had never seen one. The first reply looks like he got it right.

Looks like it would be worth keeping around.
