So MacTools released a 20V version of their 3/8" 12V impact gun labeled BWP138.

Having the Dewalt 12V Screw Driver and Drill, the idea of sharing battery chargers was appealing. One charger is better then a half dozen like what used to happen with me. Especially since I just started a job as a road tech and would like to limit the battery types I have to lug around to just a couple.

So I picked it up from my Mac Dealer on Friday. Will like to see what it can do.

Apparently it has 325ft-lbs/440Nm of breakaway torque.

It has no adjustment in the torque setting unlike say my 3/8" AWP038 Air Impact Wrench. For tightening, manual basically says be careful as the more you hit a fastener the tighter it will get until it may fail. D'uh. :lol_hitti

We have a shop supplied 20v 1/2". I use it because it's there. I'm not overly impressed by it. It's weird that stuff you think it would take off it can't. Then you have something you doubt, but try it because it's right there and it wings it right off. I wouldn't really speak negativly about it, but personally I think my Ni Cad SO has way more umff. All that said regarding the 1/2", I maybe be interested in a 3/8"if it proves to be a good unit. I want a new one for work and haven't decided which brand to go with.
