made a new workbench, and a shoe rack...

My dad and I worked a bit over the Labor day vacation. He needed a workbench for "his" garage, since I stole his old one for "my" garage. Just about $200 and a few hours later, we had two projects knocked off of our very long "new house to do list".

Oh, I just noticed this too!!! I would def. consider installing some sort of cheasy modling aroudn the base of your garage, so it over laps the sheetrock. The reason is, after a few years, the humidity in the air will "expand" the edges of the sheet rock on the bottom. It will sort of "fan out" any sort of molding will "contain" this. It jus thelps to maintain a neat appearance.

Yes, this bench is very sturdy. having the plywood screwed to the back and also having the bottom shelf screwed down really strengthened things.

kartracer- Ya, there's 2 women in the house, plus us three guys. I, personally have 3 pair of shoes on that rack, and one more pair for work up in my room.

As for the sheetrock, it might be worth doing the molding if I could convince my dad that he really needs to insulate and drywall the whole garage. Everytime I bring it up he grumbles something about money. What's that stuff?

I'd even do it for him if he'd buy the stuff... but nooooooo
