Even with new LED work lights in the shop, found seeing scribe marks on material when using my vertical bandsaw a pain. I looked around at a lot of options that would provide lots of light in a compact package that could be far from the workpiece. The first requirement was due to a lot of light options being in the way when I needed to change the blade or blocked my sight of the work being cut. The later requirement was so I could mount the light to the upper wheel cover and not to the upper adjustable guide.

I realized that I do not use the saw every day so battery powered was an option. I had previously purchased a Coast G19 AAA flashlight from Amazon from a "hot Deals" posting on the GJ. It real life it was bigger than something I want to carry around every day. But it did have a nice lens the focused the light to a small area. So ever with only 54 lumens, it was pretty bright. The listed 2.5 hour battery life was fine for my bandsaw lighting application.

I clipped the flashlight to a scrounged magnetic base and a plastic wire tie mount from the parts bin and tested it out. I am please with the result for my $10 investment with included battery.

Excellent idea and execution

I also find myself putting tons of light on all my tools.

You might want to play with adding a led to make a blade shadow line. I've done this on my horizontal band saw and miter saws.
