Where can I buy a 24" made in the USA bolt cutter? Tried Northern Tool, Ace Hardware & Sears (Companion brand only), but they only carried the China stuff. We have the big box stores in town, but I really don't feel like driving all around and checking them all out. So if anyone knows of a brand that is American made, please let me know & I will let my fingers do the walking.

Thanks,

Scott

Franz is correct, Epsteins do carry Porter. I lucked out years ago and found a 36" pair of Porters in the bushes at the back of the parking lot at the place I worked; I made the mistake of opening my big yap in front of the manager who seemed to think I should bring them back and turn them over to the store even though they were not theirs either! Good thing for me he didn't push the issue cause I would have quit the job to keep the cutters! The manager was a D head!

Well I called a few hardware stores today and one of the few truly independent stores left in Des Moines had one. I say "had one" because I bought it. I took their word that it is USA made because it doesn't have anything stating such on the cutters. It is a Mintcraft brand and I can't seem to locate a website for them. Think I'll start a new thread to see if anyone knows of Mintcraft.

Oh yeah, I paid $33 vs $20 for the Made in America product.

Thanks for the tips regarding the Porter brand. I didn't realize they are in the Cooper Tools family. I don't own very many Cooper tools, but I don't recall having any problems with them. Hmmm, I see Cooper Industries paid a 21 cent dividend this quarter plus they bought 13 companies this year. Might be worth looking into.

Thanks again.
