MADE IN USA Welding pliers - FOUND!

I stopped by Berland's House of Tools today and while walking through their welding supplies I saw hanging on the hook and actual good old made in USA pair of welding (welping) pliers:thumbup: Of course it was even a bigger thrill to find that were Channellocks:bounce: They are model #360.

The pics below were taken without me wiping the oil off of them, so I apologize for that.

They only had one pair, but I will be getting more so that I can have a pair at work and one in my truck.

Can you guy tell me why they're "welder pliers"?
I don't weld but I still can't figure out their use.
Just curious

they have needle nose tips for cleaning gun/working metal. They can cut your wire on your welder, can be used as a small hammer, and the bottom round cut out is used to remove the nozzle from your wire gun to clean it out/change tips.

tool for mig welder machines. large hole grips outer gas cup for removal, smaller hole grabs inner nozzle tip. both can be difficult with stuck spatter. also for trimming the wire stickout and cleaning spatter.

I'm really digging these. I need to find them and the 307 battery pliers.

This thread isn't helping my tool lust.

I bought those last month....AWESOME! So nice to use...won't buy any other pair now.

They also make them in "CODE BLUE" that has the bigger handles, and I haven't seen them in person, but was wondering if they'd be even easier to handle with big gloves. (I wear elk Tillmans, so these work fine, but I'm talking about heavy plate welding and what not for the code blue ones...)

I paid $25.99 plus tax.

Another cool thing was Berland's House of Tools now has a whole end cap / display of Mayhew! I had to buy some Mayhew, Berland's is a place I could spend $100,000 without blinking except my wallet would start smoldering and burst into flames right before it started laughing at me.

are these the cheap econo "mayhew select" diy or the traditional mayhew aka "pro"/"150"?

These are the Mayhew pro, they didn't have all the models because it looked like I was the first one to come across this endcap. They had the pick sets, about 15 different pry bars, the heater hose pliers, weld busters(I grabbed the last set right before another guy who looked like a mechanic was reaching for them, I felt bad but I did get to the display at least a few minutes before he came up.

When I am looking at something and there is only one of them if anyone even gets near I take it off the shelf.

Good show! Look like a nice set of Pliers.

I never saw that thread, there have been a few threads in recent months inquiring if there American made welpers and I too had been looking for them.

I have a pair of them that I use at work and absolutely love them. They replaced a pair of China made ones that our Lincoln Welding rep gave me when I bought a new hood from him.
