This is typical, todays addition was a 18mm crowfoot. I should have a set of them in tubing type. Its the second recent job they would have been handy.

BTW, my Son found this gem of a ratchet,,, can we find a rebuild kit,,, what grease is best?

This one was in a box of tools I just bought. Probably the old "slice n dice a Snap On because it's the only thing around" type of deal.

I finally lost the WT Grant wrenches, they were really good, must have bought them when I was 12. The 18 started life as a China 1.2 socket and an 11/16 this morning.

I'm glad this came up somebody was asking why I was hard on wrenches in the toolbox thread as these were not in my main wrench/screwdriver drawers. Some of these I'm not proud of what I did. Particularly the Snap On impact punch that I ground down just this last weekend to get a brake caliper bolt that broke off flush in the bracket on my wife's car. I had to drill out the backside and punch it out, it was froze solid, no warranty now!!

I got a bucket of old stuff just for this. Sometimes we need a piece but not a whole set, a few never or rarely used again, some become obsolete.

I made one almost identical to that (1 1/4") for holding the bolt heads when I hang wheel weights on my old tractor. I can't do it myself and my wife frowns upon having her hands pinched, so I had to figure out something else.

The only difference is I ground the cut end to a nicely rounded contour so as to not gouge the rim. :)

Farming always requires ingenuity , tools have to be made or altered , downtime is money . I am always amazed at what guys come up with in a jam! I have a box of tools around here from my great grandfather , some things are repurposed for something , I will probably never know..lol! I always like sberry's post , he has had some good ideas!

I am lazy enough at heart to want to find the easiest way, sometimes that's work. I will install an outlet or new hose bib if I can get it to do the work for me.

Modern cars have enough of these types of lines it would now pay me to have a set of the right tools especially if they were ATD type things at the right price. If I had to have 400 set would probably make one here or there as needed. ]
I have a lot of stuff but don't have every wrench they ever invented. I rarely use a ratchet wrench, I have some mostly as problem solvers, same for swivels.

That one pic looks like a tool for those stupid GM calipers you gotta turn back in to put new pads on.
