I recently acquired an old Mag 77 Skil saw. It’s a little beat up like these saws often are. It worked before I replaced the cord. The old cord was fraying, and I bought a new cord from eReplacementparts and since I replaced the cord, and now the saw doesn’t work. I’ve replaced cords before and know how to do it. I’ve checked and re-checked it and I’m sure it’s wired correctly. I verified the cord has continuity. I tried different outlets. I’ve also filled the oil reservoir, and checked the brushes, which seem fine, though I admit I am not an expert on brushes. Any ideas as to what might be happening here? I'm tempted to put the old cord back on and see if it works again...
