So what extension stick with the magnetic tip are you using to retrieved dropped bolts and sockets?

I got one that came apart on the last job and the springs in the tube flew out to never never land. :lol_hitti

So I was curious what others was using and if they enjoyed it or not?

I've had the Blue Point ( one on top of photo) for decades, others are a mix of Titan and Husky I think, maybe a Craftsman too, but the Blue Point is my favorite

Whatever cheapo I received as a stocking stuffer years ago. Still going strong after 5-6 years so I see no reason to replace it

I got a fairly good one at a gun show years ago, then got a REALLY strong one at HF last year. The first one is a "spring" for its entire length and the new one is like an old telescoping car radio antenna. Add a piece of PVC pipe to keep it from sticking to stuff it passes, and I can pick stuff up.

I have 2, a large one (Think the size of a nickel) that's fairly strong that came from Big Lots and one with a smaller size magnet head to get into tight spaces from HF

Whatever cheap one I find really. There is one on the Snap-On truck. Looks like a copper wire with a magnet attached to it so you can bend the wire any way and it'll stay that way. I'd buy one if I wasn't so cheap.

I used to use a snake, push the button and three prongs come out to grab.

The telescoping magnetic pickup, like an old radio antenna, some with big magnets but, they are not flexible and break when not having a straight shot, and trying to get one to flex. Big magnet with sleeve is nice because it does not get stuck as easy.

The best I like are the magnet on a wire. I have a thin magnet wire a copper wire for tight spots, it does bounce around a bit.

Even better an aluminum wire with a larger magnet and sleeve. The aluminum wire is stiffer so it has more control and is supper bendy where you need it. I like this one be best. Got it from my snap-on guy. Worth the few bucks that it cost. It has saved me many times.

Empire 27052... it was $5 at rural king, made in usa, less bulky than the one i had, less bent than the one i had... fits really nicely in my pocket

i also have a Tekton 7610... doesn't really fit conveniently in a pocket but has a light on the end

I bought a nice matco telescoping magnet and when the telescopic part broke off in the middle of a job i substituted a piece of coat hanger wire. It's turned out to be extremely handy and I haven't thought about using the warranty on the original setup.

well, remember the free wood pusher for the tablesaw they were giving away a while back in the hot deals section? I took the rare earth magnets out and hot glued to a wood dowel. works way better than the various telescoping sloppy craftsman ones I have.

Nice! I see there are several kinds that I wasn't aware that existed.

Now I'm on the hunt for multiple as I previous only had the radio antenna style with a big magnet on the end!

I have a couple but tend to goto the $10 craftsman LED 1st. The head is larger due to the LED but it sure comes in handy when fishing things out of engine bays.

I have a craftsman one and a few from John Deere that I like better. Also, use more often. I also use my Snap On pocket screwdriver quite often too. It has a magnet on the end. That's about the only tool I'm not to particular about.

Craftsman made a few different telescoping styles, I have a small one with a red handle that was in a display by cash register. Magnet isn't strong but it's really little good for hard to reach areas. I also have a Craftsman Professional made in USA that extends to 3 or 4 ft long and has a super powerful magnet on the end.

I have the Blue Point telescoping one. It's the strongest one I've ever found. At my old garage, it was the designated pickup tool for when people accidentally dropped tools and fittings from the trans flush machine out of the waste oil tank. The thing can pick up an 18" pipe wrench. One of my best tools.
