I have been looking for a magnetic battery boot for my Milwaukee tools and came across the STS ones. Are they any good?

Man, that's a Snap On equilizer!.....I LOVE the magnetic boot Snap On has for thier 14.4 stuff, never knew anything was out there for Milwaukee!

Damn, they have a LOT of cool stuff, thanks OP! They even have the solution to the Snap On 14.4 charger that I have been looking for....a way to wall mount it!

I have m12 and m18 from STS. The m18 has been fine. The m12 uses two different length bolts, they only install one way. My m12 has had the front two bolts pull through the plastic. IDK if I over tightened the bolts and damaged something, dropped it, whatever.

The magnets are very strong, will hold a mid torque m18 horizontal on a lift post. No idea why you would do that, but I've done it for fun.

Perfect. I was wondering if my mid torque would hold with the magnets, it's what I use on the home lift.
I did read one review that said they crack when dropped.....

That's probably what happened then. Even with the magnet it still gets dropped. I may try to fix it, or just toss it.

Except for the price point, this would be great for the base of my flashlight.

But if they hold on w screws (Makita), it would not be as flexible as id want either.

Anyone try sticking these to the side of a tool cabinet, or do you need the massive steel to get it to hold?

They really don't get that nasty with grit. A wipe with a rag will remove the powederized rust dust pretty easily. Big chunks can be annoying, but the magnets are strong enough to just power through and still hold.

What's annoying? Setting it down horizontally and having it pick up an extension.

Good idea, I will hold off until there is a more competitive price option. Maybe I should dust off the 3d printer
