There is a free coupon for that HF magnetic tool holder. Try double sided 3M tape if you don't want any holes

If you pull the tape off the magnetic side of the bar you will find six of the HF magnet #98406 in side the channel. You can take the magnets out of the channel and just stick them to the lid.

I used this kind of tool mounting when I was younger. It can sometimes magnetize the tools you have hanging off it. Nothing like noticing that your pliers are covered in metal shavings because they became magnetized.

On the same note sometimes its nice to magnetize your tools so they can pick up those dropped nuts n screws.

The magnets are pretty strong, it will grab the lid when you get it within a few inches. Might grab anything loose in the top of the box as well though.

I have several of those and have a few attached to my lift. Makes it real easy to put a tool down and then find it again.

The back side is weak. I don't think that would work.

That's why the two back sides would be back to back with the magnets facing outward. One for the box lid, one for tools.

Or use some double sided 3M tape. Easy.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly. The back side can barely hold a 21 mm socket. How can it hold another long heavy magnetic like that?

See the holes in the ends? Pretty sure you can fit bolts through there to hold the two together...

1. Take the metal side of the bar and make them touch each other.
2. Take a nut and bolt, or as you can see in the first pic, a zip tie and attach them to one another.
3. Attach bar to some sort of ferrous metal, second pic.
4. Attach something made out of ferrous metal to the bar, third pic.
