Im trying to find something like this....

Just a few days ago I seen a company that had them but I cant find them now. I was thinking it was VIM or maybe Tekton but I cant find it on their website so it must have been a different brand. I can find Husky, Craftsman and Torin branded ones but everyone shows them out of stock or discontinued.

Anyone have any ideas? The bigger the better. I was thinking of trying to use these (or any type of magnetic panel if there is such a thing) to organize sockets.

I have a smaller one in my box for organizing sockets, some odd singles mostly. Would be a great plan if I didn't pay something like $20 for a craftsman magnetic panel that's 12x3".

Zoro claims limited stock of a 12x6, for 32 bucks. You could probably ghetto-rig a thin plastic panel with rare earth magnets glued to the back.

How about buying a sheet of rubberized magnetic material and mounting it to a frame? I bought a pack of 4 - 12" x 24" for just a few bucks.

Could you explain a little more or possibly have a link to something similar to what you have? I'm not sure what kind of rubberized magnetic material you are referring to....

Does anyone know of the thinnest flat magnetic bar? What I'm trying to accomplish is extension organization. I would like to mount a flat magnetic bar to the inside of my box, on the vertical walls of the drawer, then simply **** the drive end of the extension up to it.

So no added bulk of an organizer but the magnetism prevents the extensions from rolling around or moving.

Just happen to have the Harbor Freight magnetic bars sitting beside me. The complete bar is roughly 1/2" thick. The magnets themselves if you remove them from the bar are 3/8" thick. Could use some double sided tape to hold the bar to the wall of the drawer and still be under 3/4".

Not sure what else might be out there that is thinner. Maybe those knife holder things you hang on your kitchen wall?

No doubt. But it also seems very expensive for what I’m trying to accomplish with extension organization.

Yep I read that and I guess I forgot to finish my post I stuck the HF magnet bar to the under side of my drawer to see if it would hold sockets/extensions in place and I couldn't get anything in the drawer to stick in place even with the drawer liner moved out of the way. Maybe stronger (neodymium?) magnets would do it but the HF magnet didn't for me.

Just grabbed a bigger ferrite magnet from an old speaker and stuck it on the bottom of the drawer and it held an 1-1/4" impact socket pretty solid if my drawer liner was out of the way. My liners **** though so better liners would probably keep it from moving around. Even hung the socket off the side of the drawer and it held it pretty good.

Turns out I bought magnetic vent covers. They are very strong, as you can see. They are holding up a larger drill index.
