Magnetically Attaching a Power Strip to a Tool Cart

I have a new HF tool cart that I love. Since the cart is stationed relatively immobile in my garage I would like to attach a power strip to it for electrical connections. However, I'm hesitant about putting holes in the sheet metal of the cart to mount the power strip; I don't want holes showing on the front of the tool cart if I later decide to relocate the power strip. I could use velcro, but what about using strong disc magnets ( http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000YF92PA/?tag=atomicindus08-20 I could attach several magnets to the back of a metal power strip and then attach the magnetized power strip to the cart? Has anyone done this? If so, how well does it work? Is there a better solution?

Thanks.

Michael

I put a metal power strip on my box at work with normal silicon. I had to duct tape it until it dried though, it's on pretty strong but I'm sure it would come off easy and clean up if I had to though.

I think that 2 16lb magnets jb welded to the power strip would work alright.

I simply made a sheet metal "hook" for the back edge/lip of my box.

If you have an old hard drive kicking around, there's a couple of strong magnets inside. It should only take about 10 min to pull it apart.

I made my own Tool Cart out of Some Steel Tubing and an Old HD Steel Storage Container that was welded on an Old Trailer that I bought.
It had a Recessed area where the Wheels were on one side, So thats where I added an Outdoor Outlet.
Its Safe from being banged around.
I have a 50 Foot extention cord that is coiled up, on a Hanger that mounted to the back of the Box.
It stays as Part of the Rolling Cart.

3M Dual Lock will hold it. Be warned, however, that if you do go to remove it, it will likely pull up the paint as well.

I don't quite understand the silicone method. Any other suggestion?

It's in a tube for a chalking gun, Stuff like Permitex Ultra Blue is silicon.

Spread it all over the back of the strip, smear it with your fingers, stick it to the box, tape it down until dry.

It easily holds the heavy 10 outlet metal strip plus everything plugged into it.
