Magnetizing nutdrivers

I want to magnetize my Bondhus nutdrivers. They are not hollow shank so gluing in a magnet won't work. My HF mag/demag dingus is weak weak weak. What is a better magnetizer to buy or should I try the wire wrap & battery method?

From what I read no matter how I do it I'll have to re-do it from time to time. Oh well, not a biggie.

Leaving your nutdrivers on a magnetic parts tray will magnetize it. I do that with a couple of small precision screwdrivers that I use for working on the computer. Hopefully I won't have to use those screwdrivers anytime soon.

Old way to do it is wrap insulated electric wire around the shaft and touch each end to a battery positive and negative terminal. Yeah it sparks but it works. I magnetized many many screwdrivers this way

The only problem with magnetized nut drivers is the damn things attract every sliver and chip of steel around and are constantly clogging up.
I have both magnetic and hollow styles - I tend to grab for the non-mag hollows simply because they're ready to go without cleaning.

I wonder how hard it would be to mod a nutdriver to a spring retention system like Makita Gold bits? Maybe I'll take a spare 1/4" VACO and mess around with the idea.

I have a pair of magnets that I use to magnetize screw drivers..just reverse them to demagnetize...
