Main breaker/sub panel question

Hello again. I'm ready to hook the main panel to the sub panel. Is there a certain order to hook up the hots to the circuit breaker in the main panel and a certain side to hook the hots to? Sorry if I'm not clear. I want to know if the "black" hot goes on the top half of the breaker in the main, and if the "black" hot has to go on the left or right side of the sub panel for a proper connection? Or can the black and red be hooked up any which way? Thanks again guys.

I assume this is a 120v/240v single phase panel.

Yes. Running 90A breaker to 100A sub.
