I think the real question is how in the world would a brown out cause a main to flip if the only load was some cameras?

I suspect either that main is defective, or that brown out was a massive short somewhere that sent a lot of power where it didn't belong.

Good question. I live in a rural area and our power supply is terrrrrible. We get brownouts all the time. I've had the power company out to check things and they claim everything is fine but it's not. On top of the regular power outages and brownouts on sunny days we just had an ice storm that had our power fluctuating quite a bit.

I'm eventually going to go off-grid but it'll be a while.
