So I have a generic landscape lighting setup.

300w power supply and wires running all over the yard.

No LEDs, but I made a really cool Halloween costume and I have something like 1000 leftover LEDs so I was thinking I should make my own LED bulbs.

Anyone ever tried that? Got any advice?

Guess it depends on the type of landscape lights...all of mine took standard halogen 12V bulbs, so it was pretty easy to source LED replacement bulbs for all of them. Obviously not what you're trying to do here, but I'm not sure I'd have the patience to make them myself when some craptastic Chinese factory already pumps them out by the thousands...

I have a bunch of various color led's. Big problem I ran into was that the leads on them were tinned steel. Use them outside and the humidity would eventually cause the tiny leads to rust off.

I replaced the clear LED's in a few solar lights with blue ones but had to encase the leads in clear epoxy otherwise they only lasted a few months before one of the leads rotted off.
