Maker unknown coolness factor known.

No coo, makers names, patent #'s, Trade marks or other examples to compare with; but that sixth sense in the back of your mind is telling you something else.

Perhaps made by a machinist in training, shop class assignment, home workshop project, or perhaps someone at a large machine shop using some down time.

For whatever reason they have a known coolness factor something that says this is a well made tool and it needs a new home.

That pipe wrench is pretty cool. I have a soft spot for homemade tools such as these. Coolness factor is certainly a 100!

Thank you for the links while I was aware of them, my wrench did not have any makers names on it. Although at some point in time someone took a stamp punch and put their initials at the top of it.

Thats what I thought. I also was going through that patent info and found out that one of the makers Whitman & Barnes had a plant and offices in Akron, Ohio at one time.

The wrench and tap wrench probably arn't home made. I had/maybe still have one just like it. The hammers are mostlikely made by a machinist with some free time or made in a shop class of some sort.

that last item is a sheet metal punch/die and shold have a punch for each hole. I have one identical, bought new off amazon a few months ago. you can punch holes in coins to make rings, or other sheet metal for other purposes.

That's actually for punching holes in shim stock without leaving burrs. Useful in machinery erection. It looks to be hand made.

Good question, and I have no idea why. I've got three or four basic die handles acquired secondhand, and none of them are marked at all.(None of them look remotely like yours. I love that wrench...)

in my junior year of high school machine tool class i made a hammer similar to the one in picture 5. 30 or so years earlier my father made the same hammer (i have both)... not only did dad and i go to the same high school but we also had the same teacher for metals... his first and last year teaching. the hammers sit in the older snapon box in my workshop along with a set of parallels, angle set, Vee Block, center punch a few other assorted handmade and vintage tools i dont really use but i keep to look at every so often.

Bighead most likely if you can not locate any makers marks then chances are your hammer is shop made.
