But I don’t think it is. What do you think? It belonged to either my grandfather the farmer/rancher or my step Dad who was an electrician by trade and hobby tractor restorer for fun.

Looks like the t-bar on a hobby diesel engine for compression adjustment. Did old diesel tractors use similar?

Some type of a flywheel puller?

Our "motoplat" ignitions used a device like that to pull the stator (flywheel)
There were some clutch pullers like that also

IDK.... Reminds me of a flywheel puller I had for a Yamaha RT 1.

Wow, usually someone can name it within minutes. I can’t find any markings at all. It probably won’t help with identification but the handle and nut are aluminum. The main shaft is steel. The indexing point does not retract

I guess I will toss it in a box and maybe one day figure out what it is for.
